Menko PMK Bolehkan Kampus Pungut Biaya Kuliah Pakai Skema Pinjol

Makassartoday.com, Jakarta – Menteri Koordinator Bidang Pemberdayaan Manusia dan Kebudayaan (Menko PMK), Muhadjir Effendy tak mempermasalahkan skema pinjaman online (pinjol) untuk membayar uang kuliah bagi mahasiswa. Ia berujar akan mendukung segala usaha yang dapat meringankan beban mahasiswa, termasuk pinjol.

“Asal itu resmi dan bisa dipertanggungjawabkan, transparan, dan dipastikan tidak merugikan mahasiswa, kenapa tidak?” ucapnya usai rapat bersama anggota Komisi VIII, DPR, Jakarta, Selasa (2/7/2024).

Sistem pinjol, kata dia, kerap disalahartikan sebagai sistem yang negatif. Persepsi itu muncul karena banyaknya penipuan atau oknum yang memanfaatkan pinjol demi keuntungan pribadi. Padahal, ada juga kampus yang sudah menerapkan mekanisme tersebut dan terbukti efektif.

Salah satu kampus yang menerapkan mekanisme pembayaran pinjol bagi mahasiswanya adalah Institut Teknologi Bandung atau ITB. Ia menggunakan platform fintech peer-to-peer lending PT Inclusive Finance Group alias Danacita.

Platform itu sendiri tak terima jika disebut pinjol, karena terkesan sebagai perusahaan yang tidak legal dan tidak beretika. Sebaliknya, perusahaan itu mengklaim telah mengantongi izin dan berada dalam pengawasan Otoritas Jasa Keuangan.

Sementara itu, Muhadjir menilai pemanfaatan pinjol yang diterapkan oleh kampus tidak termasuk komersialisasi. “Itu kan soal penilaian, bisa macam-macam,” kata dia.

Per Jumat, 31 Mei 2024, OJK merilis daftar penyelenggara financial technology (fintech) lending, fintech peer-to-peer (P2P) lending, atau pinjaman daring (online) alias pinjol yang terdaftar dan mengantongi izin . Terdapat 100 perusahaan pinjol legal yang memiliki izin dari OJK.
